Default Would differing salinity change skimmer performance?

I know skimmers are pretty much useless in freshwater, and from test running mine in freshwater I noticed the bubble production is horrible compared to salt water.

I was wondering if keeping your salinity on the "high" side would improve skimmer performance at all? I noticed that many people prefer to have it on the higher side anyways.

I imagine that it probably wouldn't be much of a difference, but figured I would ask you smart people anyways.
