I find that when I use straight well water to make NSW, the harder water combined with the new salt, precipitates some of the calcium from the water. It first gets cloudy, then forms a precipitate on the sides of the container, pumps, etc.

Its very hard to remove from glass and acrylic. Best way to clear it up, is to run the water through floss to remove the precipitate.
