Thanks guys, I''ve decided to buy the 23 watt phillips daylight, from home depot, that says 6500k on the bulb.

Do you think placing the light 6"-8" from the water level with the ball of algae being a few inch's under water be a good place to mount it?

Do you think this is enough light in my refuge for a 29G display and 10G sump/refuge?

If I were to add another 23 watt light would this help even more? the refuge area is 6" deep after the 4" of sand 12" x 12" or would heating probably become an issue? only other light is my dispaly which is a 6 bulb ati fixture with 3 fans. plus I'll be using a mag 3 return pump, 2 x mp10 vortech pumps.
