Just heard that you should not use ABS for anything related to aquariums. Is this true? Why?
I'm just wondering because I found some ABS fittings that are perfect for some acrylic I have lying...

Why don't you go 30 deep and 30 tall? I think when you come over this weekend you'll like the height of my tank. I've got a 48 x 24x30 (tall) and I love it. I wouldn't really want it 30 width...

This seems to be common with the Quiet one pumps... They shut off after they get too hot. Let it sit for a day and try it again. I run mine with a fan..

You can have your overflow flow into a little tupperware container with drilled holes...
You can also put a peace of foam under the overflow pipe..
You can fill the section where it overflows...
