It's what I do. I'm lucky that I can get my hands on all three and feed them slog with some powdered foods occasionally. I still dose some elements but not to the extent that some do.

I'd put them both in a sock if you want to do that. Or at least the carbon and make sure the rowa is only just boiling. You don't want the carbon to tumble at all and the rowa should just be bubbling...
