Maybe not entirely reframe the wall with the door. To save reinstalling the door maybe try cutting the studs in place and install the upper plate as Carpentersreef noted.

The PFO HQI will run more of a variety of bulbs then the Icecap. I had difficulties with the Icecap and new Phoenix bulbs until they were burnt in with the other ballast.

Add BusyBee to the list of places for local tool shopping. Maybe not for a router but definately for a router table.

A 1.5hp router sounds pretty small. I would look for 2-1/4 to 3+hp.
