Thanks for the tip on calibrating my refractometer, but I was actually referring to my pH meter. Do you buy your distilled water from a pharmacy, i.e. Shoppers Drug Mart, etc?

I couldn't agree with you more. Hagen sponges last for years as do the rings. I wouldn't bother with the other inserts they recommend as they're not needed. Cycle your tank, perform regular water...

Strange! What do you have for RAM and a video card? I have a P4 2.0 with 1GB RAM and a 128MB vid card and can watch everything. Updgrade the RAM and graphics card and you'll be flying along.

I don't want to tell myself how much I spend or I may go into shock. Actually, I'm quite careful, however after delving into the marine side of the hobby, freshwater seems SOOOO cheap!
