I wonder if you could try feeding the tank and trying to catch him while he's out eating. Mine gets rather frenzied when he's eating so I think that is how I would try catching mine.

I agree. The koralia's are a wide spread flow. I have one in my 50 and it was way too much for my lps so I HAD to set up another for the lps. Other than them being a tad large I love mine.

the only other thing that I could think of is iron. Is there somehow excess iron entering your tank? The algaes feed on this as well. I've seen this algae and it's very weird. Not the same color...
