Good info, thanks for posting. I'm always a bit nervous about plastic these days, and not just in relation to our hobby. Plastics aren't good for people either, that has been proven. Knowing that the...

Thanks everyone. I have a lot of respect for the tradesman who do stuff like this every day. Mudding and taping truley is an art form. The actual tank move will likely not happen for a couple of...

Pretty cool pic. I've got a couple of corals that do that but I can't get a good macro of the polyps for the life of me.

step 5
I've managed to finally find time to finish mudding, taping and putting a coat of primer on everything. What does everyone think of the color? It's only primer so if the wife doesn't agree with it I...

Take pictures of the corals now, that way when they brown out you can still say "this is what they look like". I use one of those totes for my refugium, which I've kept frags in from time to time...

I think it looks good so far. I like your idea about hiding the overflow, they're such ugly contraptions and noisy too. Good job.

Bondo? What about for the outside corner beads? My goal was to try to make the bar blend into and resemble the walls around it, that's why all of the extra work. Man I hate this part.

step 4
Just finished the first phase of skinning the bar. I now have to remove all of the panels so that I can seal and paint them. I also have to re-level the whole thing a bit since the kids have adopted...

Don't need a skimmer for cycling, in fact it might speed things up without one.

When my filters are newly replaced it will take about 3 hours to fill a 5 gallon bucket. Its not a 100 gallons per day, but its always been like that since the day I got it.

Nope, no good. I started to get the impression that they were gone by what I found in my searches. Is there any other places that I can get replacement cartridges for my Aquasafe unit?

Can anyone tell me the best way to get a hold of Aquasafe in Burnaby? I'm trying to order replacement filters and I'm not having much luck locating a phone number online.
thanks,
Danny

If you only got your new skimmer the other day you shouldn't expect to see results from it instantly. You should wait a couple of weeks before you decide to purchase a reactor. You may not need it.

I ran out of screws the other day and company has been here, so nothing new to report. The next steps will be skinning it, then resisting the urge to move the tank right away.

I have snails die in my tank all the time. Mostly due to predation from the hermit crabs though. If you have hermint crabs they will take care of the snail for you, they probably want it's shell. If...
