I always keep a 10 gallons tanks running, with a heater, 1 inch sand,small aquaclear filter, and no lighting, for treatment (ich), quaratine, or when a fish as been attack...

Any fish in your tank? I read somewhere...fish sleep and need some darkness....but also some light (like the moonlight) for orientation and for any "attack"...
