ELOS Mg test
 

am I the only one finding the new Mg test instructions a pain?

It took me a few times reading it through very very slowly, moching what I needed to do before I totally got the gist. But once I had it down it is fairly simple.

Step 1: 3mL of tank water, add drops of A until colour change.


Step 2: 3mL of new water, 5 drops of B, small scoop of purple chrystals, add drops of D until colour change. (I find 99% of the time the magic # is 5 so half the time I skip step 2)


Step 3: subtract # of drops in step 2 from # in step 1 and multiply by 50.


eg. (32 drops of A) - (5 drops of D) = 27 drops x 50 = 1350

Unless the kit has changed very recently?

Putting it they way you did Mandosh it does sound very easy but if you miss read where fase 2 starts & miss the " repete as per point 1.1 " it can be a little confusing. I don't know why they could not have just started fase 2 with a repeat printing of exactly what printed in 1.1.

Elos directions are a joke. I just follow the pictures inside the booklet.

Damn you must have bought the special package with the prize in it, mine didnt have any pictures.

Use 1.5ml instead of 3ml for your part A and save half your reagent. Multiple by 2.

Part 2 is always the same for me, 5 drops so I don't even bother doing it.
