Edmonton Water

Hi all, quick question for you... What water do you use for evaporation replacement?

1. RODI
2. RO
3. Tap with Chlorine remover ie. Prime...

Thank-you so much in advance...

Leduc<mostly supplied by Edmonton I belive.>
for evap and water changes

Tap water, no prime unless i need to do a big change in a hurry or the refil resivoir has been empty a while and lots is going into the tank.

LPS growing like snot, sps having problems which may or may not be related.

going RO/DI when funds permit.

I have tested my water a few times and was getting bottled RO but just gave up on it after a while. I also used to run an aquaclear with carbon and gfo on my water for a few days before i used it but some how that tank ended up filled with rock and water:) incoming water has no phospates with an elos kit, and the tds of the water at the store 4 blocks away is allways around 120.

Well I will tell you the reason for the question... my check valve in my RO uint stopped working which allowed the unit to continually push water through and out my waste tube into the drain pipe 24/7 which after checking back utility bills meant $100.00 to $120.00 per month extra on my bill for the last 2 years  and no I did not notice because my wifey pays the bills!

Anyway, gotta figure out if I want to continue using it or try the city water with prime...

Thanks for your replies and hopefully there will be some that use the city water route then I will not run into this problem again lol.

I believe you can go on the city website and they have posted the breakdown of the water contents
