Freshwater snowflake eels?
 
does anyone know if the freshwater version of the snowflake eel is a brackish water eel or can it make it in a freshwater enviroment. all i could find was the salt water snowflake eel which is black and white and just information on that so if anyone out there could help much appreciated :razz:

I'm thinking the ones you see are actually Gymnothorax tile, the "freshwater moray", as I have an adult, but the only specimen I saw looked a little different (juvie of course), so I couldn't be sure it was the same thing.

I have had mine if full marine for two years now, and I'm not sure how many years or months it was kept in salt before that. Seems to be thriving. :)

I checked one out at a local store in Red Deer, and it does look like they are carrying Gymnothorax tile....these juvies can be converted to complete saltwater in case anyone wants to try one.
