Frontosa chiclids

Hi I was just wondering if I could put a small breeding group of frontosa into a 120g.I was thinking of getting 5-6 (1-Male and 4-5 Females) any help would be good!!

Maybe five if the tank is pretty open and you are sure of the male to female ratio. I have bred other cichlids in the same Tropheini group but they weren't any where near as big so I am not sure. Something better might be a group of Tropheus or a few Leleupi with some Altolamprologus (sp?) Comp.s or Calvus

Thanks for the info I would almost know for sure about the sex ratio becuase I would likely buy an already breeding group of frontosa`s becuase I want them to breed sooner although I would like to see them grow up and breed that way I can see them from babys to grown ups and then have babys of there own!!

My boss at the fish store has tried for many years but has had little luck so gave up, but they are a really cool fish.

I have kept and bred frontosa in a 120 Gallon.

I'd go as far as keeping about 7-8

2-3 males rest females.

The extra will draw the attention of the dominant male, hence leaving the females alone.
