Tank Cycling Question
Hi,
I am just on my third day of cycling my tank, all things seem to be going good so far. I just added one of my old heaters to the tank, I thought it was working properly. I tested it earlier and it was fine but by the time I got home I guess something was wrong with it cause I couldnt control the heat properly. The temperature in my tank for the first two days was about 79 - 81 F. when I got home I saw that the temperature was 84.5 F. I am just wondering if high temperatures for about 10 - 11 hours would possibly destroy the live rock? I have also noticed that I cannot get a steady temperature going, it seems to fluctuate. Does any one have a quick soltion to keep it steady? Please let me know, thanks.[/list] |
A new heater perhaps?

Since you just started the cycle spend the 20 dollars and get a new heater. Your lucky that the heater didnt go like that when you had a full tank. save your self the hassle get a new one , heck have 2 in there just incase.. you wont be sorry in the long run

the live rock will "die" off anyway durring your cycle. won't it?

Otherwise we would all be using dry base rock to start our tanks. |
