I have never known a small one to die, some reefers have had trouble with the larger ones. I have had mine for over 3 years now without issue. Great eaters, mysis, flake, spirulina pellets, nori.
I have also have another small one (3.5-4") for almost 2 months now, same deal. Very hardy and great eaters. Usually a dominant fish/tang in the reef.
