Default More apex questions

So I just pick up one of these apex controller and I have a few question
First what is port forwarding ?
How do I do that because I'd like to monitor things from my phone
Third how do you hook a web can up to the apex ?

Port forwarding is forwarding requests made to your outside interface (ISP provided router) to your internal IP (in this case, Apex base unit) The actual setup depends on your provider and your personal hardware.

You can't hook a "web" cam up to it as far as I know, you need a network camera

Port forwarding not difficult and as stated above differs depending on your modem or router. Typically you can find your modem or router's menu on the local ip addresses 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (type in the user name and password usally found on the modem unless you set up your own) once there click advanced then port forwarding, Click IPv4 and add your port you setup on your Apex and add its IP address on your network. As for the camera you need an IP camera.

Here is all the instructions you'll need and a how-to video on port forwarding.
