Default AI Sol Data Cables & Neptune VDM

I originally thought that each of my two AI Sols would need to be plugged into a VDM to control them.

Now, I'm wondering if the Sols can be connected to each other with one of the supplied data cables, and then one of them wired into a VDM. Should this work to control both units identically with one Neptune VDM? I have all of the required hardware and cables to install them this way.

I checked the AI site, but can't find any documentation. The included "Quick Start" guide is very simple and doesn't cover this possibility: if it is possible.

The data cable between the two should run them in series. I have the AI controller which is plugged into one of the data ports and another cable is plugged into the other data port which then travels to the other Sol unit. Both units are get the same instructions from the one controller. A VDM would most likely function in the same way.

Thanks, soapy. I figured it had to be able to work that way, when I saw that each fixture had two data ports. Excellent.
