Default Maxijet+Sureflow upgrade problem

Just upgraded my 1200 yesterday and for some reason the propeller keeps sounding like its grinding and stalls abit then runs normal again??Anyone had this problem? Ive rebuilt it a few time and cant figure out what the problem is?

Cheers

Mine were doing that too. I took a piece of airline tubing and filled the gap on the shaft between the propeller and endcap, not too tight. Solved the problem, and it ran like that for several months. I took it apart to clean it a week or so ago and forgot to put the tubing back on, it is still running properly. It's almost like they need to break in or something.

Are you using the big propellor?

Try to airtube thing and if that doesn't work then try shaving the big propellor down a shade with some sandpaper or a Dremel.

A lot of people have issue with the big propellor and a 1200 because that is the absolute limit what the mod is capable of handling.

If you are still having issues, then put in the small propellor. You don't lose all that much flow and it's far more reliable.

Thanks for the info guys! I tried the air tube idea and for some reason it made the propeeler spin backwards??? I put the smaller propeller on for now and it is working flawlessly. Tommorow Im gonna take apart one of my girlfriends earrings and steal one of the beads off of them and see if that works with the large propeller and then I will deny I know where they are when she asks if I have seen them lol

If it starts up backward, you need to unplug and plug it back in. The MJ's are known for that trick on startup.

There is also a little plastic tab on the upgrade kit housing that can make contact with the impeller, carefully break it off and problem solved.

It is useless, found the article about them a while ago, wish I had known about it earlier before I got PO'd at one of mine and dissected it.

The tab is to stop the propeller if it turns backward.
