Default Skimmer advice

Hi all,

im trying to research skimmers for my tank which will be 220 gallons, and ive decided between a RO 5000 or a vertex alpha 200. Other than the fact its about $300 difference in price, does anyone have experience with the super reef octopus series? Google has not been helpful with searches, though i have found some videos.

Also, does it make a difference if the pump is inside the skimmer or out?

A pump inside the skimmer will save you some room in the sump, but a pump outside the skimmer will make for easier cleaning.
