Default Vertex Illumina SR1200

Thinking pretty serious about ordering one of these in the very near future (this week)... I'd love to hear any feed back from other owners out there...Are you happy with this fixture? So far the only 2 minor things I don't really like is that you have to hang it and it isn't MAC compatable... minor issues, I don't think it's going to stop me from ordering one...

TIA

I would say you are better off with something like the Pacific Sun LED light. It has much better coverage than the Vertex light and the Deimos also has T5 HO supplemental if wanted, Bluetooth, fully controllable with LCD screen, and MAC compatible. These are now available in Canada through two different distributors. These light are extremely popular in Europe where they are made and just starting to catch on here.

Its a good unit for sure but also compare it to the Pacific Sun units also they are extremely closely matched for ability.

There's been plenty discssed about the pros and cons of these in a couple other threads. Before really being able to give you an opinion you should tell us about your application. What are your tank's dimensions? What types of corals etc do you have or want?

Thanks for all the feedback and PM’s…Still learning allot about LED and SW lighting in general. This light will be going on a 48x30x27 which will be a FOWLR initially, and will Replace the Double 250MH/T5HO combo fixture currently in use…I do say FOWLR initially as I know down the road I am going to want to do/try different things, I want to buy a lighting unit that will allow me to expand and grow…and include a lightening mode
