Default underwater camera suggestion

What's the best camera for taking video or pictures underwater? I'll be going on a snorkelling trip. My current one doesn't show the colours very well

GoPro works well. You can get orange filter or just adjust the WB in post. Its better to adjust the WB in post as you'll lost some sharpness using filters. I had fun snorkeling with it on my last trip last summer in Coron, Philippines.

Enjoy your trip brotha.

@Crimper is right, GoPro action camera works well under the water but it really depends on the feature of the camera or rather should I say the specs.

I don't like GoPro for pics because the screen is soooo tiny it's difficult to see if you're taking any decent photos until you upload them. I got very few good pictures off GoPro during a Philippines trip. Rather disappointing.

For snorkeling I much prefer my Pentax WG-II and it's half the price of a GoPro. Waterproof to 40 feet.

You'll need a red/orange filter on whichever option you choose.

I was going to suggest this one too, but couldn't remember what it's called. The video setting on this one is really good too. Lots of members here use it for photographing their corals. It's about the same price as the Pentax. The Pentax has a REALLY good "1 cm macro" setting which outshines the Olympus if you're interested in taking pictures of coral polyps. The White Balance on the Olympus video setting outshines the Pentax.

I'll second the Olympus TG-4 or even the TG-870.
Nice large screen with a clear image so you can actually see what your taken a picture of.
