Exclamation HEEELLLLLPP - Pyramid Snails

Hey Canreef,

I recently noticed one of my clams receded into its shell. I came home this evening to find it almost gone, and pyramid snails on my tank's glass. oomg!!!!111one111!!! I am in complete shock right now, I've never had to deal with this. How do I protect my remaining two clams?

And how do I deal with these pyramid snails? Is there anything I can add to my tank, like a particular fish, invertebrate, or a chemical? Please help!

I believe a some wrasse's will pick at Pyramid Snails; someone correct me if I'm wrong (however the snails are nocturnal fish might not work so well)

Give this article a quick look over, it might help you out mate

Do you see them on the calm itself? I've never actually seen them on the glass, so maybe it's a different snail?

Sixline wrasse are the standard cure, but I have never knowingly had pyramid snails.

Sixline, and I believe you can google for a micron rating to use on socks. I've read that 1?? (seriously double check this) micron socks are the method by which most clam propagators filter their systems for snails. I can find you the paper reference if you really need it.

Do you have any photos? I'm just curious.

Take the clams out and with a soft brush gently remove any snails.
