So we bought a used ETSS600 skimmer for 250$
 if it's not strong enought we wil get the extension to make it a ETSS 900... A litlle addition to the tank today, a pistol tiger shrimp:   really hope it gets along with the yellow watchman we bought last week... or with the blue-spoted we also have...

some updates
we observe that the sps were not extending their polyps that much last week... water tests were all good... so we decided to do a big water change (30%) and everything is doing better now... ORP got from 315/320 to 400... maybe some colonies got some chemical out that affected others.. the mysteries of reef keeping! after reading many positive things about biopellets we decided to install a reactor to try it out... we bought biobeads (less costly then the biopellets) that arrived today and we will install everything this week-end I'll keep you posted about this

some pics of a 30% water change (every 3 weeks it's a 15% water change usually)
 corals from the top (only T5 and moon lights on)       the emptying took about 10 minutes and about 15 minutes filling up after.

Skimmer
Fantastic tank, looks really good!!!
I am curious to know what you think of the new skimmer and what pump you are using on it. I have a 900 and have mixed feelings although i suspect part of my problem has been the pump. I would welcome your thoughts. Thanks Steve

Looking good Josie! Do you ever have any problems lowering your water level like that for water changes? The last time I did a water change like that all of the coraline algae out of the water bleached on me and I lost a stupid amount of color from a few acros.

yes coraline that was out water died but it come back after.
No sps colours changes after big wc... the sps that have lost colours in you tank after big wc they were out of water for how long?
