i for the life of me cannot get macros like you folks can!! what's the deal? are all your corals within 2 inches of the glass or what? or is it my camera...or just operator error hehe i've got a canon a510 is this capable of those shots, does anyone know??

I think your canon should be capable of it, it has a 5 cm macro. Make sure you have the macro setting on and you are holding the camera fairly still. Perhaps use a tripod if you have one.

yah, i think it has 5cm macro and i do have a tripod...but that's why i'm asking if all those shot's are of the corals are within 5 cm of the glass? mine are all futher back i guess. i think maybe i just need more practice...everyones shots look like bizzare microscope shots, very impressive i must say.

I have filters which some times I uses and some times I don't and I also have a close up lense set which alows me to be anywhere up to 8X closer using my non macro settings. thoes pictures I used the normal macro settings that are in the camera though and no extrenal aid.
