I dont have pictures of my tangs in my tank.

In my tank i have
- 1 Kole Tang
- 1 Yellow Tang
- and 3 Hippo Blue Tangs (They are all very happy tang Police )

My setup is a 6 foot long Deep tank @ about 165 Gallon Display and 90 Gallon sump. Everyone is very happy. Ill try and snap some pictures.

But in the meantime here is a great yellow tang picture i took Diving a Few Weeks ago off the Big Island in Kona.

Dont have a stobe yet, so my colors are washed out.

I went from having 7 tangs in my set up to now only having these two,

My Sohal tang aka Scar face

My Regal tang aka Dori

I really miss my blonde naso (who mysteriously disappeared) and my clown tang who died in the M.V. outbreak. I think if I were to add another it would be one of those or a cheveron tang.

Thanks for all the wonderful pics! I have to live vicariously through all of you. I am new and have a 44 gallon. The LFS told me it was room enough for the hippo and yellow tang I wanted. After much research I discovered they are not the smartest people at my LFS. So until I upgrade, Thank you for the pics!

I have seen fish stores sell hippo tangs that are the size of a loonie. They don't stay that small for long though!!

Tangs in general will grow pretty big. I don't know what the smallest species is though.. Perhaps one of the mimic tangs?

Thank-you for doing research and realizing tangs need a big tank to be happy in.

Kole tangs, Scopas tangs and yellow tangs are the smaller type of tangs and you can find them loonie sized in the store however ones that small have about a 30% chance of living for more then a few weeks. Keep in mind that if you get a small one that lives, within 3-4 months you will need a minimum of a 90g tank for them to live happily in.

I got this purple tang a few years ago from a friend who was tearing down his tank. The best thing about it: it eats bubble algae!

That bubble algae must be like Popeye's spinich! (Makes him 4lbs strong!) That's a good looking fish. I would love to add one like that, but I'm positive that my Atlantic Blue would take exception. Same shape...same colour...bad recipe.

Nice pavona back there. I have not seen many others who have a big colony like that.
