Last night (literally minutes before leaving for the U2 concert) I noticed something wrong with the Blueberry Tenius.
I frantically texted Rich and he diagnosed RTN. Oh man. I quickly dipped and turkey basted the frag for several minutes. No signs of AEFW, just skin and pods. Then several minutes in Lugols Solution, a rinse and back in the tank as we headed out the door. Tried to calm myself and enjoy the show, which we did! This morning I have been researching RTN and STN, and the appropriate actions to take. I'm thinking just to make fresh cuts of the frag. If I lose the piece, so be it, that's part of the game. I am worried about all the other pieces and wondering if there is anything I need to do to treat the tank, or is the infection localized? Any insight would be helpful. |

I am no expert by any means but i had the same problem about a month ago...for me it was low alk and mag to start with, then i discovered my skimmer pump had a snail stuck in it and wasnt pumping much water all. fixed all that and they stopped stning after a day or 2, i also cut back on feeding the fish a tiny bit.. So i beleive i had too high nutrients, not enough oxygen and too low alk and mag

I did end up fragging up the pieces it was too late for and they are thriving now...

Sorry to hear about the grief Warren
I wouldn't fret about O2 if your skimmer is producing micro bubbles under the foam head |
