True but he is out against the top line on every team. Im not a fan of plus minus I think its a poor representation of defensive ability. I have no idea why I keep defending him lol...I'd rather he wasn't here as well
That's what a shut down center does... shutting down the other team top line. I am not a big fan of plus/minus either but still, it does show something. And at -23, he's horrible at shutting down anybody.

True but the defence was sketchy at the best of times and for over half the year the Goaltending wasn't up to par as well.

Lol I can't stop.

Anyway enough old player talk what do you think the should do with the first pick?

I think they should trade away and fill the holes on this team. Swapping picks with Columbus for Jack Johnson is not a bad idea. They can use the #2 pick to pick Murray. We would have then 2 pretty good D-man.

I'm sort of on the fence (very weird of me I'm very opinionated my wife says) If they can pull the trigger on a top flight D-man sure but I could also see taking Yakupov and start winning 8-6 lol Thats a ridiculous top six!

I am all for 8-6 games. I love wild open hockey and end to end rushes. Unfortunately, in today's NHL, it's the defense that will win championship so I think I would go for some top notch D-man instead.

Take Yakupov or trade the pick straight up for a top pairing defenceman currently playing in the league. Someone like Oliver Ekman-Larsson. I don't like the idea of trading for multiple lesser parts or more draft picks.

true but even best case scenario its years before they are in the conversation when it comes to the stanley cup. Drafting D-men is a questionable choice always. There are more Barkers than Doughty's.

Now if Tambo can swing a trade for Suter or Webber he is the GM of the year!

What D-man would you like to see come back?

would you pull the trigger on a trade for P.K Subban? (I wouldn't personally for the first pick anyway)

Now that would be perfect, Weber would look good in Oiler Blue.
Subban can stay in Hab town. Not a fan at all, more cockiness than ability there.
