Was told not to worry to much about it as it is not really that harmful and when I get fish They will pick at it

So it's been two weeks now ... I have experienced a diatom bloom( still existing) and now am starting to get hair algae( long green stringy algae).

My coral is doing just fine. My chalice is now starting to get I very nice hue if red all over( believe these are polyps).

I have discovered I have 2 crabs in my live rock living( haven't had money to get uncooked shrimp yet to see why kind they are) and have a coral banded shrimp I purchased to help control the fireworm population. Not sure if it's possible or what they look like but I think my cerith snail laid eggs cAuse there was what lookes like air bubbles stuck in a thin web but over night alot have gone away so I'm not sure.

When can I get a cleaner crew for my tank? I know I'm cycling right now. But how do u control the algae?

I think you should be ok to add your CUC!

We had quite a bit of hair algae after our initial cycle. CUC couldn't keep up, so we did a couple of black outs, left the lights off for 3-4 days at a time. We didn't have corals at the time, just fish, but it did the job. Whatever was left was then manageable for the cleaners!

So just a little update to what is going on with my tank. I got some Mexican turbo thanks to coralgirl and they took care of the hair algae I had growing and the mysterious purple fuzzy algae relatively fast. Since then algae has been under control but some yellow patches still hear and there but I'm just sucking them up with the syringe. Still trying to find what else I should use for a CUC. Thinking about getting a watchman golby.

My coral banded shrimp had shed once already and the bristle worms have died down alot. And I have found 2 hitchhikers and removed them. I have finally wait about a month and a half and gave into getting some colour to dance in my tank. I got a pair of damsels to start just so I have some more to look at. I also got a cleaner wrassle but he didnt make it more that 24 hours for somereason. I tested water this morning after noticing and everything was 0 and ph was a little low at 7.9. Hear they can be finicky so maybe I'll try them later on after I get somemore fish.

I am going to be getting a skimmer that hangs on the back. I'm not 100% clear on what it does for the tank but I know it's a good idea and takes any floaters off the top of the water lol

Also getting another glo light so then the I can run dusk and dawn with my lights and my corals will be much happier.

My roomate randomly bought me a small colony of zoas and they haven't really come out yet but I'll wait a bit and see what they do. Maybe after the new light is added they will do better.

Here are some new pics cause I had to rearrange the rock for when I got the snails.

Found two of these on the back of a piece I live rock

Not sure this type of snail
