Looking great Devo! That orange monti danae is unbelievable, I'm still angry at you for snagging that before me...

The tank is really coming along, you really need to change out those Current USA bulbs though. Get some nice KZ's in there and you will notice a night and day difference.

So its been awhile since i have updated my thread, unfortunately my camera sucks and the colors are completely wrong.

I have changed my lighting from a Nova 12 bulb t'5 fixture to the Coralife Aqualight Pro 72" HQI. After the change i truthfully hate t'5s with my t'5s i would notice my larger colonies to start to STN from the bottom because the light issues. I find the T'5s make your tank look fake "no offense". I have noticed more color and growth from the metal halides as well i love the natural appearance and shimmer they put off.

My new fixture has three 20K bulbs and PC's. I don't like the PCs but they work, does any one know the best PCs to use? 20K metal halides are the best! I will never go back since my tank is only IN deep the 20K penetrate perfectly, i also like the blue they put off it makes my colors pop.

I have been dosing every single Zeo product and have noticed a huge growth and color difference. My polyp extension is so great i can even see the partition and the full oral disk of the polyp. If only all the zeo products came premixed with the salt.......

Heres some photos

Full tank shots

I am waiting for this to turn into a sunset Monti, when i bought this it was almost white. Now it has vibrant green polyps and the base is slowly turning orange.

This is my favorite deep water, It was completely brown when i got this now it is completely bright green with dark purple tips the photo does not even come close to what this really looks like.

My tortusa "biggest colony" I just need a blue tortusa!

My polyps are so extended i never really see the base color but its very green.

This coral had a huge come back it was completely bleached so i flipped it over and it has completely over took the plug!

More Monti's

My Milli fell on this and killed a part of it, its growing back quite fast.

I have never seen such a vibrant blue color polyp at night all i see blue polyps
Favorite Monti the picture is awful.

The poker star monitpora is spreading every where....

Other Acros

20K Lokani

Cluster Acro

Unknown Acro

The mangroves continue to look fantastic! I've probably asked this before and I've just forgotten but what light do you use for them?

Is that second from last picture just showing up as the top inch or so for anyone else? Everytime I try refreshing it comes up the same.

Thank you,

I am planning on keeping the mangroves until I sell the tank.
Hopefully the mangroves will just cover my basement .
I ordered the mangroves from Hawaii i brought in 150 unfortunately i started to grow them under the water. I found if you don't spray them like 4 times a day when then protruding the tip of the water the mangrove will die.

My mangroves range in size from 12" to 24"

I use a 250 watt 10k bulb, I don't believe that there is a 250w 6700k bulb out there if there is please tell me where to find one.
The fixture is an odyssey 24" with PC's I am going to replace my actinic PCs with 6700k bulbs. The photo is showing up on my lab top and monitor.

Thanks again for the comments!

It's working now for me too. Dunno why it took its sweet time.. Schtoopid computer.

Yeah I seem to remember back from my more active days of growing orchids that hydroponics shops didn't like to carry anything 250. It's sort of like how aquarists don't seem to like 175w because 250w is just a little bit more light for close to the same wattage and there's more choice. But in the plant world 400w is our 250w and nobody likes the 250w because 400w is more light and more choices and blah blah blah. Plant people want to light up an entire room or greenhouse with HID where us water geeks like to keep the light contained to a small area but bright as all heck IN that small area.

Having said all that I think there is a Venture 250W that is 5500K. I think they are the big globe style lamp though so that probably doesn't help you at all.
