Goniopora Tenuidens?

Did you see it fully open where you bought it? They tend to expand much larger than you'd expect, if you're not accustomed to them. It's a beauty. Look at goniopora.org for more info (if you're not accustomed to their care already, that is....if you are, just ignore me )

Tx for the advice, i read alot before buying this little guy, and goniopora.org was my reference, yeah it was fully extend but not extremely. It was under MH 20k at the LFS, and i have a 10K, so the color is much purple than blue right now, sooner or later ill switch back to a 20K or a Phoenix 14K!

have you ever own a goniopora?, cause if you got any advice ill take them

Tx alot!

Jake

Jake:

Hey--glad to see you did the research beforehand!

I have a Goniopora Stokesi, and it's shown some pretty decent growth in my tank. I have placed it high up on the rockwork, as I only have PC lighting. Water flow has been my biggest challenge, as I strive to find a low-medium area of flow for it. I haven't tried to feed it directly yet, but am going to pick up some cyclopeeze soon and try it out. I do, however, see a feeding response every time I add ZooMax.

It's a VERY sensitive coral! Every time I have to put my hand in the tank, it retracts, or bends in on itself. I guess it doesn't like how I smell
