I've heard that from a few of the stores. There is a big internal debate going right now as to which is the best. I guess just like anything its going to come down to personal preference.

I never used anything other than Norton up to and including 2k3. Its just the 2k4 and 2k5 that they have turned into monsters. lol You are correct if you have a good computer they are fine. I've installed and have seen them running on newer pc's, and they do work great. Unfortunately only about 30% of the people out there have PC big enough to run it. I had a fellow in yesterday with a PII - 60MB ram with the full Norton securities installed. He was wondering why his PC was so slow. Now its easy to say get a better PC, but when all he uses it for is to check email and browse the web, why should he have to spend $500.00 on a new rig. Thats my only problem with Norton, is they do not have a new solution for older PC's. We bumped this fellow to 128MB with an old 64 MB stick and installed panda and the pc works fine (dead slow as far as I'm concerned LOL but he loves it)

You do have a point about port forwarding. Its definately a scary process for someone whos never done it before. Its a piece of cake if you've done it once or twice. But again I'd say most people will never need it. You can surf, email, and game without it. Yes some of the gamespy networks etc require fwd'd ports but I figure if your a gamer and know how to setup and get connected to a server, port fwding shouldn't be that hard.

Bottom line, just as with anything intel vs AMD, ford vs chevy, coke vs pepsi everyone will have their own preferences. I say use what works for you. Don't change something thats working for you just because someone else thinks their way is better.

I have been using Kaspersky since last year - runs great, no huge resources taken up. Basically i have yet to find a flaw

Ya must be new or related only to computer viruses. I did a google search and only found it in the computer world.
