I think the proper term for all of these supposed cube tanks is a rectangular prism. Unless it is truly a cube. :-)

Naww, Prism would have 3 sides would it not? More like just a Block LOL Ya Ohhh Come look at my Block tank. ya that doesnt sound as cool as Cube LMAO. But Cube is all sides same dimensions.

Well, there are Cubes (by your definition), 1/2 Cubes, and x/y Cubes... Dunno why I'm defending the cubers!.. I shut down my HALF-cube already.

Actually, a prism is just an object that has the same cross-section along a length, so in this case it is a rectangular prism. In fact, we can generalize them and refer to them as cuboid (a box-shaped object). It has six flat sides and all angles are right angles. And all of its faces are rectangles. There also exists square prisms when two of the lengths are equal, but even those can be classified as rectangular prisms.

Well, all cubes are rectangular, but not all rectangles are cubic.

Don't worry about it. You have nothing in your tank so it is okay. The tank is cycling and this is part of the process. Once the bacteria starts to develop it will consume the ammonia and convert it to Nitrite, then Nitrate.. thus is the cycle :-)
