![]() I had a giant one, too, and was getting a little crowded in my tank. He laid (too heavy to stand) about 18 inches high, and 2 feet across. I cut and fragged him above the base about 3 months ago, and he is growing back again now, much smaller, of course.

![]() You need to drive it out to me. That's too big of a burden for your tank.
![]() As other people have said, cutting it is your best bet.

![]() So if I just hack it off it will regrow? Which part will? Do I cut a slice of the head with the 'fingers' or the stalk, and will stalk regrow the fingers????
Seems so barbaric just hacking away at it

Also, here is shot of a couple small pieces that were left behind where he stuck himself to a rock on the side, and had to be cut away. They too, developed polyps now and are starting to grow.

![]() I had a toadstool in my 55g way back and when I moved everything over to the 175g I removed the toadstool to make way for sps.
I have been yarding out toadstools from the tank ever since, the smallest bit of tissue left behind will grow a whole new toadstool in pretty short order ![]() |
