Can skip right by the scales with that for some reason. I wouldnt turn one of those trucks away if they were giving them out though.
you need more than a decal to skip buy scales, it has to be regestered as a RV or a private truck. so no longer comercial.

as for the milage lots of class 8s are getting 12+ bob tailing, with a 18K trailer it will hardly changes.

Which ones??? I work at a Mack/Volvo dealer and havent heard those numbers before... Maybe 10 or 11 out of some of the old D12C. Soon as 02 hit and EGR started in on these things mileage like that doesnt really exist anymore. Anything in the 15 or 16L wont see any higher then 8 bobtailing. Even the D13F's CF is running with the tiny daycabs arnt getting those numbers. But again lots of EGR and now catalysed DPF hurts mileage too. Ive heard some of the old detroits would get around 11 but then your getting pretty old then. One of the old V92's I think or an early 60 series.

most of the people running them are using volvo 630's 770's ect. they are all reporting 12 as an average empty. my buddy has a KW (comercial driver) and he is getting 12.5 bobtailing in the mountains.

8 bobtailing most guys I talk to are getting that hauling 60K + lbs. I was talking to a couple last night when I went to have coffee with my buddy and they said if they had a truck that got 8 empty they would return it as theres something wrong with it and they have never seen a truck get under 11 bobtailing unless there was something wrong or the driver was an idiot.

Well if you can get that out of a volvo or any class 8 truck for that matter dont get rid of it and I would love to see it. Never seen those numbers here. Fleet or Owner operator.
