Now this is an interesting change in this conversation.

Good to see others from Manitoba north. During my 30 yrs. in Thompson, I made many trips to Flin Flon, mostly for bowling. Had many friends from there.

It really is a small world. We left Flin Flon when I was 14, so that is close to 50 years ago.

Dad's family is from Winnipeg (I was born there), and Mom's family is from beautiful Shoal Lake.

Dad got smart and moved west...

But not west enough!

We all got smart and moved out west. I once mentioned I was in Calgary in 1971. Stayed for a year, then went back to Thompson, as I missed the money to much.

My youngest brother stayed and is still there and the middle brother moved to BC. Guess I,m the only faithful flatlander.

I have to say, I've noticed some really bad spelling lately. It seems to be getting worse and worse. I'm concerned about Canada's education system.
