Actually, there has been some published research that shows lights with a large amount of red spectrum inhibit zooxanthellae reproduction rates: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2009...earchterm=None

With that said, I still use one Fiji Purple knowing this is likely a negative consequence because I like what the color does for red and purple coloration.
