Samw try a couple of actinics onthere with the MH, I think you will be very happy.

If you get another 250 one on either side of the brace you wont see the brace at all. My tank has a brace.

Chris, yes, I thought about that. But I already think the heat from 1 MH lamp is hot enough in my bedroom. Not to mention the real reason which is that the cost to buy and run another MH system is not in the budget.

Steve, I am definitely going to supplement with PC's (probably be either the 96W Smartlite or the 55W 9325K). Right now, I have the 96W Smartlite at 1.5 feet from the water since it is on the same board that the pendant is hanging from. Here's a pic with the smartlite on from last night. The brace shadow is lessened. Hopefully, it'll be even better once I lower it and enclose the bulb in reflective material.




Here's the back side showing the MH and the 96W Smartlite both on.
