for skimmers like prizm you'd probably be ok, but since thats one of the better performing models you might want to do some research..

seriously though, if you need a new skimmer figure out what you need as a minimum and how much your willing to spend. then buy the best you can for what your willing to spend as long as it meets your needs. there are somethings that are worth money to some people, self cleaning featurs, better pumps ect.. what you have to decide is what is it worth to you.
