he was scratching a lil bit about a day after i got him, so I did several water changes, and he stopped scratching, was eating. He had no signs of Ick, no spots/marks or anything. This was my first fish loss in about 10 months.

i got his brother/sister and has ich for shure,its day 14 and sg is at 0.009 and doing well.

The smaller they are, the harder they are to care for. Quarter sized hippos are cool, but chances of survival are 50/50.

dont you mean 1.009, if it was like 0.009 he'd be dead, or you'd have him converted to fresh water
