Gorgeous dimensions and I love the 3' front to back. Sweet tank all around.

Or at least it did look clean. I haven't been cleaning the back because I want the overflow box to disappear. Later this winter I may cut and mount a sheet of blue acrylic along the back wall on the inside of the tank... but for now this is how it looks.
Recent purchase from J&L. This thing has always grown like a weed. Somewhat less recent purchase from Frag Garage.

Of the seven only two (the Tangs) generally swim out in the open. The rest prefer hiding in the rocks or in plain sight. I have two more fish in the sump that will eventually make it into the display but they aren't open swimmers either... That Porcupine Puffer at Total Pet would make a nice active addition but I just don't trust Puffers, especially large ones.

I keep messing things up but since I had to take some pictures today anyways I thought I'd post a little update. A few alkalinity swings and a power outage or two did a number on a few coral so I did some demo and shuffled a couple of things around. In a couple of months I should be happier with the ways things look but at the moment I just see too much empty space and dead skeleton. Also it would be nice if the incredibly fat power blue tang would stop nipping at the coral!
Behind the scenes in the rats nest not much has changed. Feeding PE Mysis 3x a day means the skimmer foam head is damn near perma-crashed. I am also haunted by dreams of larger reflectors or a series of LED pendants.

Full tank shot for 2017. I had some setbacks due to irregular alkalinity and then temperature swings over the past year so a few pieces are now smaller or no longer exist. That and the Powder Blue's incessant coral nipping has taken its toll. I've replaced the crushed coral with a 'select' finer grain size sand as I was having a cyano problem. The green Acro hasn't skipped a beat though. At this rate I'll be junking it to start over before the year is out. In total there are only nine fish, and one of those lives in the sump.

Looks like it's coming back strong .
Curious - how big is that brain coral in right back ? Looks awesome, I just picked up a small piece quite similar .
