![]() I've gone through 8 different Vortechs before I finally found 5 that did'nt have reliability/noise problems. At $500 a pop you'd expect a little more out of them. They're a really cool powerhead and i'm pretty happy with them. But, as these start to break down I will most likely be replacing them with the WP40s.

![]() Vortech's are definitely noisy. I had two on opposite ends of my 90 gallon tank and replaced them with one WP40. The single WP40 gave me a better wave and is much quieter.

![]() I'm actually using a wp25 on my 90 g reef tank and have to run it on the lowest wave w1 and on the lowest speed, it really moves water and creates a nice wave motion on the corals as well. I just ordered another one for my 60 g build.
Great bang for the buck as long as they last, I guess us first time users are the guinea pigs. LOL!! ![]()
