Eventually i would love to ditch the rear halide system, 6 of these fixtures costs around $5200 though so It won't be happening any time soon. All in all I'm already in love with these things, the color spectrum and versatility absolutely blows the MH/T5 combo out of the water.

Funny enough the tank dropped to 75°F yesterday as the heaters were turned way down (The metal halides provided enough heat to keep the tank warm). Fixed that so the tank should be running around 78°F today.

As far as growth goes only time will tell, these things do make for VERY easy reaquascaping compared to the previous fixture.

The halide system used 3 150W's with 4 80W T5's, these are rated as 250W of halide each. In all at max intensity they are far brighter than the halides are and appear to cover more area.

Jawfishhess/ Sand-bury-my-zoa-gobies are both banned from ma reef for that exact reason . Big props to Steve up @ RCE, he has quite the store up there and the guy is great to deal with. Always thought Maul polyps were a bit bigger but these things are tiny!

Awesome, so you think 6 would be enough for your tank dimensions? The tank that Kevin at RCC has in process for me is almost the same dimensions as yours and I'm hoping to hide them in the budget for the construction of the house

6 would be the perfect amount, just need to find a proper mounting rack I'm currently hanging them and they are sitting all funny. Almost need something stiff to fix them to, not sure how you would do that with 6 of them.

One of my favorites:

Jasonfox Bloodshot Paly, 2 adults with 2 babies grow baby grow!

Also picked up a Chevron Tang from golds, currently in the fuge until he's fat, heathy and ready to play with the big boys.

Went a little zoa photo happy, this is them with the radions set to "20k" @ around 65% intensity. At first they ****ed off quite a few colonies so I have dialed them way back (SPS seems unaffected), mostly everything is doing better and I hope to raise the intensity eventually.
