Operation xenia removal was implemented, and executed to the extreme. There isnt a squiff of visible xenia left in the tank. I tried to be as careful as possible to not let bits of it float of into the tank but some of the xenia had grown onto the glass. Will have to wait and see if it springs up again somewhere in the near future ..... I wont wait to remove it if it does. Thanks to ElGuappo for lending me the extra hand I needed to remove a rock that was a foundation type rock that was supporting a whack of others. I cant believe how much better I feel about how the tank looks without that big chunk of xenia infested rock that was in the left front corner of the tank. I have some shuffling to do now as Im not sure what to put where. Im not happy with where one or two of the new clams are. Catherine (one of the resident clam gurus) and Kevin are going to come and have a look at the flow patterns in my tank and try to help me decide where to put them. I know that clams are not crazy about alot of flow, which poses some problems in my tank. Just wanna make sure its a good spot before I let them root in. The bi-color angel seems to have taken an interest in the clams. There has been some nipping but as far as I can tell no damage and the clams all seem to have good extension with their mantles. Will have to wait and see with that situation too. There may be either a bi-color angel for sale or some clams in the near future. Hope not, I love them all ![]()

![]() Have an empty strawberry bucket? If not a nice eggcrate box will work well too to guard against clam raids.
I also can't believe you got a day off. How does one accomplish such a thing? I think you need to share your secret! :P |

The time off is unexpected and unwanted, being that it is so close to x-mas. It did however allow me to get some of those "I'll do it later" type things that the tank needed done.

But generally speaking healthy things don't usually smell like food so the exploratory nips stops. No guarantees of course but just throwing my observations into the hat here. ![]() Quote:

![]() those are some nice potters at the shop, made me think twice before leaving there without one.
Now I hear they may be alright with my coral (Tony), got me thinking again, just wondering how they would do with my established flame angel?

![]() So I worked at the shop yesterday and spent much of the seven hours drooling over the potters(sorry Kev). I talked myself in and out of bringing one home several times. At the end of the day I left them at the shop. I have been reading that they dont adjust as easily as some of the other centropyge angels to a new tank. I will have to start a thread asking about others experience with them.
My clowns spent two days swimming aimlessly around the tank looking for their nem (xenia). I moved the nem to the corner where the xenia used to be and within a few hours the clowns where hosting in the nem. wooot ![]()
