![]() I adore the purple. I've wanted one since shortly after I got into the hobby. I was so happy to come across one.

![]() The Vlamingi didn't come out for feeding this morning, so I was alarmed. I looked everywhere, and then I found it. Some how he jumped out of the tank, onto the eurobrace, and behind the tank. He was long gone. I feel like a failure. I even bought all the supplies last night to make net lid for the top. Too little too late...
I even know when it happened too, I just never thought of it until this morning when we found the corpse. This fish survived in a open top tank before it came to ours, so I never even thought that it would jump out. |

![]() That's sad! It's hard enough when you lose a fish to illness, but a healthy one is even harder.

![]() In light of such a terrible day we still decided to go ahead with a few plans this weekend. 1) 2nd reflector is up and running, we are still without a second 250w bulb so we've put the 175w XM 15K bulb on the left side of the tank temporarily. 2) I started making a rock pillar. I glued a few sets of rocks together, and left it at that. I want to make sure my method works before I go and glue everything and do some more finalized aquascaping. I'll post up before and after photos tomorrow. 3) Our new and much larger Calcium reactor is just a single set of plumbing parts away from going online. Kevin spent the evening make changes to our dual chamber reactor we used on our 230g. He cut it down from two chambers to one, and is now in the middle of changing the plumbing set up. We opted for the single reactor for space saving purposes, and because I don't know if we will need two chambers between now and a year from now. Again, more photos tomorrow.
