Yah I started going through those but might take a couple of days :P Too much fights and stuffs between brand lovers and budget reefers :P Some are using 18v adapters but might not be good for a pump rated @ 24v. So they are now working on modifying the PWN module; no words on it yet other than controlling with reef angel.

All you need to set the voltage to the pump to slow it down is a selectable output voltage transformer available from electronic supply places like active tech or radio shack. The controller is the true problem as it will be designed for a certain voltage and likely wont operate properly on less voltage but it should be fine to run it and the pump on 18v possibly even less. I run model trains that use /24v motors as low as 6v for short runs and about 15v for hours at a time. Your amp draw will climb with the lower voltage.

Yah that's where the problem is I guess. The adapter gives 2.5A to the controller so if it goes above that, it might not be good isinit?

I found this one in ebay but wasn't very sure about the "should not be used" comment in reefcentral.

Adjusted the position in the morning with W1 and the fishes are playing with it and no sand storm. But would definitely help if I can run it in lower voltage.

Just finished ordering one

Thought its better to use something with "with Jebao" to be on the safe side.

It will get the job don't worry. The thing is very sturdy (although its coming out from a person who used koralias only). My biggest complain is the speed control; with that, this would have been the real vortex killer! And the light sensor seems to be a PITA but that's useless since it can be easily controlled with a controller (to turn off at night).

Tank environment:

Well the tank is going pretty good. No traces of any sort of unwanted parameters. But I am seeing some diatom bloom. Alongside, since my last batch of salt bucket had a low magnesium (1100ppm), I changed it for a new bucket (I was really impressed by the customer service of the LFS; 70 gallon of salt used and the bucket was replaced without any question) and the magnesium is around 1320ppm which I want. So I am doing 10gallon wc every two days to bring up the mg level by this saturday (each change is increasing mg by around 70ppm). So that should be taken care of pretty quick.

Lights:

Honestly, I am not completely happy with the light right now. Although the spread is awesome and acans are doing great on the sand bed; I just feel like the tank can use more than 4 T5s. So I ordered another fixture with 2T5HOs and I am pretty sure 6 T5s should be plenty for mixed reef. Currently, I have 2 Blue+, 1 KZ new gen and 1 purple+. Plan on adding a aquablue+ and a blue+ to the new fixture. Any suggestion?

Livestock:

Existing livestocks are doing great. Eating like crazy and swimming around the tank happily and the female clown was dominating the tank TILL YESTERDAY! Yes I bought a new fish

It was liking the flow in the tank so turned off the powerhead and it came out, already grazing at algae. Today morning, when the flow came out, he was out, grazing but with a bit faded color; still acclimating I guess. I am just happy that it is not hiding. The clowns are sad since their rule is kinda over (the foxface is almost three times the size of the female). He tries schooling with the chormis but the chromis freaks out :P

Alongside, after feeding, I suddenly noticed one of the chromis was missing. I was like come on its too early for pecking order. Even the remaining chromis were all scattered around. I looked around the tank, on the carpet and in the sump but couldn't find it. And then when I looked at the overflow, I saw this:

I must have wanted to explore (I find chromis to be very curious beings) but didn't have the gut to go for the thrill ride down to the sump. After I put it back into the tank, all the chromis got together and started schooling again. Happy ending to an adventure

Reactors:

I have decided to go for a BRS dual reactor which I will be getting in the beginning of next month. GFO and carbon should take care of the phosphates and the clarity of the water.

Biopellets?
I am thinking of deploying biopellets to my tank since I read that its better to start early than when the nutrients are high. Any suggestion on that? I don't want to go prodibio since I don't want ULNS. Just some form of control over the nutrient.
