Default Vertex Omega 130 vs Reef Octopus Classic 110SSS

I've tried the Vertex Omega 130 but found it noisy....irritating hmm causing the my stand to resonate. Produces great foam.

Anyone else experience a similar issue with the pump?

Now, I'm considering a Reef Octopus Classic 110SS Space Saver Skimmer. Anyone have any experience with either the Reef Octopus Classic 110SS or 150SSS skimmers?

Reef Octopus Classic 110SS or 150SSS are great skimmer for their size. I had the 150SS for 2 years on a 120g and the pump was silence. I don't know much about the Vertex skimmer but you want to check to ensure there are silicon stickies on the bottom of the skimmer to eliminate vibration noise. If there aren't any, you can go to the Dollar store and purchase the little silicone bouncy balls as they work really well to dampen the vibration. I cut them in half and stick them on the bottom of pumps and other equipment that vibrate.
