Thats unfortunate to hear. Could you let me know more about your system? For instance, what kind of livestock, how big the tank was..how did you introduce the berghia? Also how much liverock do you have?

The Berghia's are very delicate creatures so you really have to make sure you introduce them right and really have to let them settle in so they can get comfortable and hide in your live rock. Also, how big were your berghia's?

As for your claims of the berghia not being effective...I really beg to differ. Im making a video right now to show how fast they consume aiptasia. Naturally if you have 2 in a 200 gallon then its going to take a long time for them to populate. These guys work best in numbers, where they can spawn and its their babies that wipe out the aiptasia. Not the initial ones, although they are very effective as well.

Peppermint shrimp are 50/50 for eating aptasia. They are also know to eat acans and some lps. Mine ate my acans. Sorry but id way rather get berghias. Clearly you had some bad luck.

I had zoanthids that had aiptasias in them too so I just put them into the box to clear them off first and its very easy for the berghia to find as well.

Yes. Unfortunately thats the issue with most people who did not have very good experiences with bergia. I used to doubt it too as I did not like their price tag. But after using them myself, they are probably the best solution. I have 2 wrasses in my tank, and I was afraid that they would get eaten as well. So I took precautions and made sure the bergia were safe in an enclosed box with some aiptasia in there so they can get comfortable and start reproducing. Once they get going, they massacre the aiptasia in your tank in no time. Peppermints I tried, putting 20 in my tank, which got devoured by my hawkfish and my black tang for somereason ate them too =.=.....no clue why. Just remember you cannot just throw the berghia in there, especially with predation. They do not like a lot of light either and only come out to hunt at night as stated by monocus.

Sadly I didnt take before and after shots of my tank but the amount of aiptasia I had was disgusting.

If I can find my hands on a lot of aiptasia ill document the whole thing so everyone can see just how effective they are.
