I've just got an open hole right now for the air intake, I can't really go bigger. The skimmate coming form it is still better than the old one by far, but I think it can do even better. I just haven't decided how to do it yet.

Why not make a second hole on the opposite side for more air

wow, that skimmate looks pretty dark! And, thats tons of skimmate for only 1 night. MAN! I wish my skimmers could come close to that!

I'm not so sure the current pressure differential thru the beckett would utilize more air even if I added a hole. Greater velocity thru the beckett might draw in more air, but that means bigger pump. I'm toying with the idea of injecting air into the beckett chamber, maybe that would froth it up more. Steve is building a twin beckett skimmer, so when that's done, I'll evaluate the benefit of a second beckett. Maybe try running two from one pump. I believe that would work.
