Default How to use Caco3 GFO in a reactor?

Does anyone use the sugar fine GFO from Eli?

I'm finding it just falls through the sponge and collects at the bottom of a TFL reactor. I was thinking nylon sock but I think it too fine for that. Even if it was large enough, you would get water moving around the sock rather than tumbling the GFO.

Maybe this'll help ya, maybe not ...

I use a Seachem The Bag to wash my GFO and Carbon before they go into their reactors

I also have one that came in a big tub of Marineland Carbon

I replaced my GFO last night in my Vertex Rx and I just simply removed the sponges. Mine is sandwiched between the 2 perforated plates (not tight). I got just enough flow that it tumbles up through the perforated holes.

Speaking of GFO... I need some more Elias!
